Optometric Technician

Location: Ronan, Montana

Job Description:

As a Part-Time Optometric Technician at Ronan Eye Clinic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working with people, possesses excellent communication skills, and is detail-oriented. This position requires a strong commitment to customer care, adaptability, and proficiency in data entry on computers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with patients to perform preliminary tests and gather relevant medical history.
  • Conduct various diagnostic tests, such as visual acuity, field of vision, and eye pressure measurements.
  • Assist the optometrist during eye exams, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed.
  • Input and maintain accurate patient records using computer systems.
  • Educate patients on lens options, contact lens insertion, removal, and care procedures.
  • Handle inquiries from patients regarding eyewear options and prescriptions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the optical team to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or similar role is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent data entry capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Genuine enjoyment of working with and caring for people.
  • Basic knowledge of eye care terminology and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using computers for data entry and recordkeeping.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Schedule:

  • Part-time hours, with flexibility based on clinic needs.

Dispensing Optician

Location: Ronan, Montana

Job Description:

As an Optician at Ronan Eye Clinic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive top-notch eyewear services. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical proficiency, excellent customer service skills, and a flair for sales. This is a dynamic position that involves multitasking, order management, and direct interaction with our diverse clientele.

Responsibilities:

  • Input patient data into the computer system accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by assisting patients in selecting frames and lenses that meet their unique needs and style preferences.
  • Utilize strong sales skills to recommend and explain lens options, coatings, and enhancements.
  • Take accurate measurements for eyewear fittings, ensuring optimal comfort and visual acuity.
  • Place and manage orders for eyeglasses and lenses, maintaining communication with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Perform adjustments and repairs to eyewear as needed.
  • Stay informed about the latest eyewear trends and technologies to guide patients in choosing fashionable and functional eyewear.
  • Collaborate with the optometrist and other team members to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Optician, preferably in a private practice setting.
  • Strong computer skills for efficient data entry and order management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Sales experience with a focus on eyewear products.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Optician certification preferred.
